Anyone anywhere in the Halloween and Haunt Industry has to be aware of the up coming remake of the classic “John Carpenter’s Halloween” being done by Rob Zombie. In fact I just got done reading the latest Rue Morgue Magazine that featured this flick. The teaser trailer has been around awhile, but I’ve posted for you boils and ghouls a the latest YouTube trailer for this late summer release. Zombie promises to return Michael Myers from the land of cartoonish figure, back to the psycho killer he really started out to be. Halloween the movie may be a tough sell for those of us that remember the original in the theaters, but this prequel/sequel combined – as I’ve read Zombie describe his movie – may just be the start of a successful fall season for those of us in the haunted house industry. The story is an entirely new take on the “Halloween” legacy and promises to begin a new chapter in the Michael Myers saga. I must say that I’m optimistic and glad to see Myers being brought back from the true death of umpteen sequels that have made his once great persona less and less scary each time a film reincarnated him. I pulling for Zombie to bring Michael back to his roots in a dark and foreboding Haddonfield that might just be the breeding ground of real evil. I wonder if his sister Laurie will make it out alive this time. I doubt anyone between Michael and her will not be as lucky.

I plan on seeing it when it comes out, and I’m hoping it will be good. It’s been a long time since there’s been a movie that actually scared me. I love Rob Zombie, but I hope he hasn’t turned Halloween into another HO1KC.
I think Rob will do it justice. He’s a huge fan. The trailers look great. We’ll see….
