I’ve been meaning to post this. Looks like Monster Guts is ramping up for the season so order now. Here’s the newsletter reprint I got.
Monster Guts Three Month Notice!!!
Yes, it’s true. Only three months to go before Halloween is upon us. It is undeniable that while we are busy building the props to scare the kiddies, what truly frightens us as prop builders is the looming deadline known as Halloween. Maybe summer is your official kickoff for prop building, or perhaps you’ve been busy in the lab all year and are just putting the finishing touches on your final prop.
Whether you are just starting, or are nearly finished, Monster Guts is here to help. We have been busy adding new products to help make your haunt the spookiest it can be and to help make your prop a dream come true rather than a nightmare to build, and at the same time offering the best prices possible.
Throughout the year we receive many emails by customers suggesting products to carry at Monster Guts. We value our customers, and listen to their ideas. Some of the products listed below are Monster Guts response to our customer’s requests.
So, without further delay, let’s get to the good stuff.
We are pleased to announce we have recently added a new line of products to Monster Guts. Monster Kits , is an ever growing line of prop assemblies. We offer complete pneumatic kits for pop-ups (like the ever popular Trash Can Trauma) and Monster in a Box. Many customers have contacted us wanting to get started in pnuematics, but were unsure how to approach it. These kits offer the first timer, as well as any veteran, an easy and complete pneumatic set-up at a great price to help get them started.
Also in the Monster Kit line is the Flying Crank Ghost Rig . The Flying Crank Ghost (FCG), is arguably the most popular of all home made animated props, and with good reason. Subtle, mystifying and beautiful, it entrances all who gaze upon it. Many haunters may either lack the time or tools to build one of their own, so let us do it for you. We supply the rig, you supply the ghost.
Customer requests have also prompted another new addition to the Monster Guts line… L.E.D.’s (Light Emmitting Diodes). These have become commonplace in haunts, with applications ranging from monster eyes to control panels in a mad scientist’s lair to effects on U.F.O.s. The l.e.d.s we offer are of mid intensity, no too bright to ruin a scene with glare, and not so dim they can barely be detected (although the brightness of l.e.d.s can be reduced by using a higher ohm resistor). We currently offer l.e.d.s in the following colors: red, blue, amber, yellow and green.
Expanding on the l.e.d. line, we offer pre-wired L.E.D.s in pairs to be used as eyes, along with the kit version of these (found in our newly added kit section). In our mission to make prop building as painless as possible, we also offer styrofoam heads pre-wired with L.E.D.s to make that FCG project a little easier to complete.
Our last newsletter featured the debut of the i-Zombie Lightning Controller. We have expanded upon this great line of products with the Single Channel Lightning Controller Kit . All electronics and enclosure are included. All you need to do is build.
More pneumatic supplies have been added.
In our last newsletter, we informed you that the Dayton 6 r.p.m. gear motor by Grainger had been discontinued. Just prior to this newsletter being sent, we received a small surplus of these motors that were left over at Grainger. We only have twenty-two available, and after our stock is gone, we will not carry any more. Act fast if you want one.
While combing through our inventory, we found three 5′ tall latex foam skeletons . These skeletons are good for positioning throughout a haunt, but their usefullness really excels when used in thrashing type animated props. Because they are foam latex, they can be flung about with little worry, unlike Buckies that are too heavy and have too many joints which could fail, potentially injuring your guests. Typically, these retail for $49.99 or higher, but we’re selling them for $39.99.
Expanding upon the recent debut of the Quick Connect, we are now offering a product we call Split Ends . Simply put, the Split End functions similar to the Quick Connect. It plugs directly into our power supplies, saving you from ruining the cord. But instead of terminals at the opposite end like those found on the Quick Connect, the wire leads are left open. This allows you to connect the power supply to anything you want that requires a 12V or 5V source, such as air valves. It also simplifies hooking up to prop controllers, which require at least one wire to pass through a terminal.
Well, that’s all for now. Time to go build some props.
Happy Hauntings,
Dean Davis
