For this week’s “I Want That”, besides wanting the Voom Network of Channels including Monsters HD restored to Dish Network’s channel lineup, what I spotted a while back should be on the top of the list for any haunter who spends hours doing makeup for their haunt. Composite Effects has created a line of the most awesome silicone masks known to man, and the Imp has to be my favorite. Now if you have never seen a silicone mask in action then you’re in for a treat. Silicone, unlike a latex mask, conforms to the wearer almost like real skin picking up the nuances that happen when the wearer speaks or changes expressions. You can get in ten seconds what takes hours in the makeup chair to achieve with foam appliances and airbrushing makeup. Also unlike latex appliances it can be used over and over like any mask as long as you take care of it. Yeah, silicone is way more expensive than a latex mask, but it can be well worth the price of not having to sit through hours of makeup each night your haunt runs. The Imp can be had for $494.95, and is one of seven silicone masks that Composite Effects offers including Whipstitch the Clown, Deep Spawn, Doll face, Hot Lips the Zombie, Crusty the Zombie, Belial the Demon, and of course the Imp. Be sure to check out the videos of the masks in action as well as the fully detailed silicone gloves they have for each mask model to make you costume complete.
